What makes your show unique?

Right now, viewers are searching for programming that is totally original but with familiar themes; it must stand out and offer escapism. Droneland delivers all these aspects, based in a different world and in a different era. By maintaining the use of universal narratives – hope, love, danger, passion – we are certain it will resonate with audiences around the world.

What are the auspices for the show, including key talent, writers, directors and producers?

It stars Oliver Masucci (Dark), Sophie Mousel (Capitani), Sibel Kekilli (Game of Thrones), Alexander Scheer (Gundermann), Marc Limpach (Bad Banks) and Elise Schaap (Undercover), among an international cast. The series is directed by Max Zähle and Félix Koch and the lead writer is Pierre Majerus.

What is your ambition for the series?

Our ambition for Droneland is to reach the widest possible international audience, reflecting the series’ global relevance. We want Droneland to resonate strongly with buyers as well as audiences around the world.

Where would the series ideally sit across markets, channels and platforms?

Droneland will appeal to a wide audience with viewers who are used to switching between traditional linear TV channels as well as digital platforms. Windowing is key for us to ensure that we are maximising the life cycle of a series in any given market so we will cover digital as well as linear platforms in our sales plans.

What else is important to mention in terms of the show?

Droneland is created by Nicolas Steil based on the internationally acclaimed novel Drohnenland by Tom Hillenbrand. This means that many potential viewers will be fans of the story already and will be eager to see the action transferred to their screens.
