Trillium and Touchstone get Close

Trillium Productions, helmed by Emmy and Oscar-winning actress Glenn Close, has signed a two-year first-look deal with Touchstone Pictures.

Under the deal, Close’s company will develop and produce telemovies and TV series.

The first Trillium project under the pact is a TVM about the horseracing legend Secretariat, a Triple Crown winner and the only horse to be voted one of the top athletes of the 20th century.

Close won an Emmy in 1995 for Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story, an NBC telemovie which she co-produced with Barbara Streisand.

Close also received Emmy nominations for the TV movies, Something About Amelia (1984) and Sarah, Plain and Tall (1991). The latter was the most-watched instalment of the {Hallmark Hall of Fame{ in its 40-year run.

Close and her co-star Christopher Walken followed up on this small screen triumph two years later with a sequel entitled Skylark (1993).
