Streamer Mercury Kids targets ‘intentional viewing’ with Highlights: Watch & Learn

Highlights: Watch & Learn will be available via a dedicated hub

US streamer Mercury Kids has acquired four seasons of Highlights: Watch & Learn, the children’s programme based on the long-running magazine brand.

The educational series is produced by Ohio-based Dreamscape Media in partnership with Highlights for Children. It features stories, riddles, facts, crafts and activities that invite children to explore, think and create.

Highlights for Children magazine was founded in 1946 by educators Garry Cleveland Myers and Caroline Clark Myers

Episodes of Highlights: Watch & Learn will be available in a dedicated hub on the streamer, which does not carry advertising or use an algorithm to decide what children should watch next. It is one of a growing number of players targeting “intentional viewing” in response to the dominance of YouTube in kids’ media.

Other dedicated hubs on the streamer include Baby Einstein in the Little Kids section and Hop!, the Hebrew-language destination for US families. Miami-based Mercury Kids is available in the US on iOS and Android mobile devices, Apple TV and Roku.
