Sony Pictures Television gives buyers 100 Choices at London TV Screenings

100 Choices debuted in Japan in 2023
LONDON TV SCREENINGS: Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has acquired global distribution rights to Japanese gameshow format 100 Choices from FANY Studio and will launch it at the upcoming London TV Screenings.
Described as a family comedy format, it sees a group of contestants faced with one question but 100 possible answers. If they can answer correctly, they’ll win a large cash prize.
The question will be nearly impossible to answer, so the contestants will take on five physical challenges that will allow them to eliminate some of the 100 potential choices based on their performance in each challenge. Contestants must use brains, brawn and teamwork to increase their chances of answering questions correctly.
This format comes from FANY Studio, a production house based in Tokyo, and was picked up by SPT after it was showcased at the Asia TV Forum & Market in 2023. The pilot episode of 100 Choices aired on BS Yoshimoto in October 2023.
In countries where SPT has a non-fiction production company, 100 Choices will be represented by Stellify (UK), B17 Entertainment (US), Curio (Australia), Teleset (Mexico) and Floresta (Brazil).
Laura St. Clair, senior VP of international formats at SPT, said: “We love the strength of the central format premise, which makes it suitable to adapt for both weekend studio primetime and location shoots.”
Mari Kawamura, head of global business at FANY Studio, added: “The 100 Choices format idea was originally the first episode in the World Homerun Factory series, airing on BS Yoshimoto.
“The series put together the brains of comedians and producers to create global formats. I am deeply impressed by how this format embodies the very essence of the Homerun Factory mission, through its adaptability and international relevance.”
The Sony Pictures London Showcase 2025 will take place on February 27 as part of the London TV Screenings and will give clients exclusive previews of SPT’s major non-scripted and formats slate and scripted drama titles.
