Netflix and Fremantle prepare Mexican version of dating format Love is Blind

Dating reality show Casamento às Cegas (Love is Blind Brazil)

Netflix is preparing the first Mexican version of its original format Love is Blind, already in pre-production at Fremantle México.

It will be the first version of the dating show in Spanish and the second in Latin America, after its Brazilian adaptation.

The format follows a group of men and women who are looking for their next partner to marry through blind dates.

Fremantle has started the casting process and is looking for single Mexican men and women between the ages of 25 and 38.

In Brazil, Casamento às Cegas has already had three seasons produced by Endemol Shine Brasil, and is preparing a spin-off titled Casamento Às Cegas Brasil – Depois Do Altar, which will bring together couples from the three editions.

The format marks the first time Netflix has broadcast live in Latin America. On Sunday July 2, the platform broadcast the reunion of the couples from the third season of the reality show via live streaming.

Love is Blind was created in the US by Chris Coelen and produced for Netflix by Kinetic Content. It premiered for the first time in 2020 and its fourth season was released in March this year.

The Mexican edition will join versions already broadcast in Brazil and Japan. In addition, the platform has announced versions for the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
