DLT invests in pair of UK agencies

UK- and US-based production outfit DLT Entertainment has invested in two British talent agencies.

DLT has entered into agreements with The Soho Agency and Milburn Browning Associates with the goal of forging links between the businesses to develop new and existing scripted and non-scripted projects.

In addition to taking a shareholding in the two agencies, DLT Entertainment president Donald Taffner Jr will have a seat on both firms’ boards as part of the investment.

The Soho Agency was recently created following the merger of Lucas Alexander Whitley and Factual Management. It features a roster of fiction, non-fiction and children’s book authors, TV presenters, illustrators, screen writers and online stars.

Milburn Browning Associates, which is part of the MMB Creative Group, manages actors, authors, stage and screen writers, presenters and voiceover artists.

The combined talent work across television, radio, live touring, stand-up comedy, theatre and publishing work.

DLT first became involved in the talent agency business in the 1980s with an investment in the Peters Fraser and Dunlop Agency. It is also the owner and manager of the Shaftesbury Theatre in London.

In addition, DLT was one of the original investors in United Agents when it was founded in 2007, with Taffner Jr appointed to the board, which lasted for five years until United Agents became a partnership. In 2016, DLT launched new company The Galton Agency, run by Andy Townsend.

“Our expansion into making investments within some of the leading talent agencies marks our continued objective to ensure we are working with the best talent and finding creative ways to source new entertaining content,” said Taffner Jr.
