Comedy Central plans Game Night

Comedy Game Night features (LR) Sue Perkins, Liza Tarbuck and Guz Khan

Comedy Central in the UK has commissioned a new season of competition format Game Night.

The competition series sees teams of celebrities go head-to-head in a series of challenges and games that test their pop culture knowledge, acting skills and composure.

The show originally aired as Celebrity Game Night on ViacomCBS stablemate Channel 5 and has been rebranded as Comedy Game Night for the forthcoming 10×60’ season.

It will be hosted by actor, presenter and radio personality Liza Tarbuck, who will be joined by team captains and comedians Sue Perkins and Guz Khan, plus celebrity guests.

The series is exec produced by Will Macdonald and produced by NBCUniversal-owned prodco Monkey.

The Comedy Game Night order is the channel’s first commission under Ben Frow in his expanded role as director of programmes at ViacomCBS Networks UK.

The show will air later this year on Comedy Central UK and will repeat on Channel 5 soon after. The show is based on Emmy-winning US format Hollywood Game Night, created by actor and producer Sean Hayes, producer Todd Milliner and Mission Control Media.

The Game Night format is distributed globally by NBCUniversal Formats.
