Australia’s LOL: Last One Laughing is fronted by Rebel Wilson

Amazon Prime Video is following up the Japanese, Mexican and Australian versions of its comedy variety format LOL: Last One Laughing with more adaptations around Europe.

LOL: Last One Laughing will be remade in France, joining recently announced adaptations in Germany, Italy and Spain.

Actor, writer, director and producer Philippe Lacheau will lead a cast of French comedians as they see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh in a competition for a grand prize of €100,000 (US$117,000) for charity.

Set to launch in 2021 around the world and produced by Endemol Shine France, the series follows versions in Japan, where it originated and is hosted by Hitoshi Matsumoto; Mexico, hosted by Eugenio Derbez; and Australia, hosted by Rebel Wilson.

The French news comes after Amazon confirmed an Italian version of LOL: Last One Laughing, to be produced by Endemol Shine Italy, earlier this week.
