ZDF Studios, Castalia FAST channel Crimen ZDF launches on Samsung TV Plus Mexico

Crimen ZDF will offer 300 hours of content

ZDF Studios (ZDFS) and Castalia Communications have launched a FAST channel focusing on procedural crime, thrillers and mystery series for Spanish-speaking audiences in the US and Latin America.

Crimen ZDF launched on Samsung TV Plus Mexico yesterday as part of the partnership between Germany’s ZDFS and Castalia in the US, which was first announced in October 2023.

ZDFS said the venture makes quality programming from its catalogue available to Spanish-speaking viewers in the Hispanic market in the US and Latin America.

The channel will make a total of 300 hours of content available, with an initial package of 190 hours, including acclaimed series such as The Crimson Rivers and The Bridge, dubbed into Spanish by Caaliope.

It will also feature titles such as SOKO and The Old Fox, a long-running German series about a chief inspector who leads his team through the dark underbelly of crime to unravel murder mysteries.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our most successful European procedural dramas on a FAST channel to audiences across the Americas, and for the first time, dubbed into Latin American Spanish,” said Susanne Frank, director of drama at ZDFS.

“We have selected captivating and iconic series full of intrigue, of course all filmed in a European settings and authentic atmosphere, different to the usual offerings in the US and Latin America,” said Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Castalia Communications.

“The channel will attract viewers who are already familiar with European content and are hungrier than ever to enjoy this programming now in their own language, as well as new viewers who are seeking similar premium content.”
