Tubi taps CBC, TikTok alum Gave Lindo as VP and general manager in Canada

Tubi has appointed former CBC and TikTok executive Gave Lindo as VP and general manager for Canada.

Gave Lindo

In his new Toronto-based role, Lindo will be tasked with setting the commercial and content strategy, growing the Canadian team and expanding the streamer’s presence in the local market. He will report to executive VP and managing director of international David Salmon, who is based in London, UK.

Lindo was previously TikTok’s head of content programming for North America, leading the social media platform’s content strategy, original live production and cross-platform initiatives. Before that, he was the executive director of OTT programming at Canadian pubcaster CBC. Most recently, he was chief content officer at Troveo AI, a Texas-based company focused on licensing content for the training of AI video models.

The appointment comes after the Fox Corp-owned AVoD platform recently opened a Toronto office.

Tubi said 21 employees will work in the new, 10,000 sq ft office, with plans to grow its local workforce to 50. The Toronto outpost is led by Tubi’s senior VP of engineering, Derek Watson.

Last month, a Tubi spokesperson told C21 original series and movies would continue to be developed and greenlit out of Los Angeles.

According to Tubi, Canadian viewers watched more than 100 million hours of content on the service in the first three months of 2026.

“Following the opening of Tubi’s newest office in Toronto last month, we’re pleased to welcome Gave as we continue to expand our presence in this growing market,” said Salmon.

“His leadership experience across digital and streaming platforms, including TikTok and CBC, uniquely positions him to help drive Tubi’s next phase of growth in Canada.”

Lindo added: “The business has delivered impressive results, and I look forward to helping drive continued success and further expanding Tubi’s presence in the Canadian market.”
