Radio-Canada acquires package of dramas and animation from Federation

Lucky Luke debuted on Disney+ in March

Pubcaster Radio-Canada has acquired more than 55 hours of content from Federation International, the distribution arm of France’s Federation Studios, spanning drama and animation.

In the drama space, Radio-Canada has picked up Lucky Luke (8×35’, Federation Studio France and Un pour Tous Productions), which premiered on Disney+ EMEA in March, ahead of its broadcast on France Télévisions later this year.

The broadcaster has also taken France Télévisions’ police comedy A Case for Kin (5×90’, Mercer Production) and the upcoming eighth season of France 2’s light crime procedural Deadly Tropics, while renewing season six (60×52’, Federation Studio France).

In the kids’ space, Radio-Canada has picked up season one of live-action copro The Lady Grace Mysteries (10×26’, Cottonwood Media and Coolabi for the BBC, ZDF and France Télévisions), as well as season one of animated series Ollie & Moon (52×13’, Cottonwood Media for Ukids, Netflix and France Télévisions).

Finally, the pubcaster has acquired TF1 special drama Mr. Hubert’s Christmas (Lapinxa Production and Quelle Aventure!).

A few months ago, Radio-Canada also acquired A Tale of Two Cities, a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens’ epic novel for MGM+, the BBC, Prime Video and France Télévisions (4×52’, Federation Stories and Federation Studio France), season seven of Deadly Tropics and seasons one and two of K-pop series Gangnam Project (10×30’, Pillango for the BBC).
