Race Across the World spin-off tops the bill of BBC’s new slate of video podcasts

Race Across the World: The Detour is presented by former winner Scott Mills

UK public service broadcaster the BBC has revealed a slate of new video podcasts (vodcasts) for streamer iPlayer, audio service BBC Sounds and YouTube, including reality competition series spin-off Race Across the World: The Detour.

Inspired by Studio Lambert’s hit BBC travel format, the vodcast is produced by Platform Media. Presented by former Celebrity Race Across the World winner Scott Mills, he welcomes guests from travel-savvy creators to comedians and celebrity fans of the show, as they celebrate the real-life stories of parent brand Race Across the World.

The roster also features Sort Your Life Out Unpacked, produced by Optomen, part of All3Media. Each episode involves organiser Dilly Carter unboxing three mystery objects which have special meaning to their owners.

Pop Top Ten, meanwhile, is another Platform Media production that is returning with new episodes. In the vodcast, Mills and Rylan Clark rank iconic music and pop culture with a special guest.

Uncanny Cold Cases, from Bafflegab Productions and Uncanny Media, is an extension of the existing Uncanny podcast. Danny Robins and paranormal experts Evelyn Hollow and Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe turn detective and investigate historical hauntings from classic cases.

Finally, Fame Under Fire with Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty is made by Long Form Audio. The journalist unpacks the biggest celebrity stories with expert guests to reveal the real tales behind the headlines.
