Cartoon Network’s Saud Boksmati named creative chief at Canada’s ForgeVision

Former Cartoon Network executive Saud Boksmati has been appointed co-founder and chief creative officer at Canadian software development company ForgeVision Technologies.

He is charged with leading the alignment between ForgeVision’s technology and the realities of creative production. His remit also includes working closely with product and engineering teams to ensure the platform reflects how stories are developed and creative decisions are translated into production requirements.

Boksmati’s appointment comes as ForgeVision continues its platform rollout, following the launch of Storyboard Analytics this month, a new module that analyses storyboards shot by shot to give studios earlier visibility into production complexity.

Prior to joining the Toronto-headquartered company, Boksmati led IP development at Bidaya Media, where he supervised animation productions, had oversight of story teams and developed original properties for international markets.

His CV also includes a tenure as creator/art director at Cartoon Network Studios Arabia in Abu Dhabi, as well as various roles at House of Cool.

Nabil El Jisr, CEO of ForgeVision Technologies, said: “Saud’s experience spans exactly the gap we’re trying to close. He has lived both sides of the creative and production divide across major studios and international productions.

“As we expand the platform into storyboard analytics and beyond, having someone with that perspective shaping how we develop and apply these tools ensures they stay grounded in how productions actually work.”

Boksmati said: “We’re entering the age of the data-driven creative, where better visibility doesn’t limit creativity, it supports it.

“By making production complexity clearer earlier, we can remove a lot of the friction that often exists between creative and production teams and give both sides the confidence to move forward together while maintaining full creative flexibility.”
