Mediawan’s Plan B adds Sony, House Productions alums to London team

Maria Fleischer and Charlie Silver

Plan B Europe, the London-based division of Brad Pitt’s US studio Plan B, is building up its UK team with the addition of Sony’s Maria Fleischer and House Productions alumnus Charlie Silver.

The division, which is led by Ed Macdonald, named Fleischer as an executive producer. Most recently, she was the VP of original development at Sony Pictures Television International, and prior to that headed development at DNA Films and TV.

Silver, who previously spent eight years at Tessa Ross’s House Productions, has been appointed as a development producer. His credits include James Graham’s Sherwood (BBC) and Stephen Butchard’s The Good Mothers (Disney+/Hulu).

Plan B Europe said the additions will enable it to expand its development and production operations in the UK and Europe.

The entity was set up last autumn with former Clerkenwell Films exec producer Macdonald (Baby Reindeer, The End of the F***ing World, The Death of Bunny Munro) tapped to lead.

The launch of Plan B Europe came around three years after French media giant Mediawan acquired a majority stake in the company, which is co-led by Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.

“As we continue to grow our distinctive slate in the UK and across Europe, Maria and Charlie are two exceptional additions,” said Macdonald. “With their sharp editorial instincts and key relationships, I am absolutely thrilled to be welcoming them to the Plan B family.”
