Mystery anthology, career format, organised crime factual join Red Arrow slate

KOTV’s psychological drama Plan B

German distributor Red Arrow Studios International is heading to MipTV with a slate of new shows including a mystery anthology drama, a career-change reality format and a docuseries on organised crime in Boston.

Plan B (18×60’) is a psychological drama produced by KOTV for Séries + and ICI Radio Canada. Each season follows an individual who employs the services of mysterious agency Plan B which has the power to return them to the past and potentially alter the future, with unexpected consequences.

German dramas The Friedmanns (8×45’) and Message from Mom (8×45’) are also on the slate. Produced by Redseven Entertainment for RTL RTL+ in Germany, The Friedmanns centres on a family beset by tragedy but determined to rebuild their lives, while Message from Mom is a comedy-drama produced by Pyjama Pictures for Sat.1 in Germany.

Meanwhile, season three of conspiracy drama Departure (6×60’) focuses on the mysterious sinking of a ferry bound for Newfoundland in Canada. It is produced by Shaftesbury and Pope Productions, in association with Corus Entertainment, Starlings Television and Red Arrow Studios International, for Global.

On the formats front, Red Arrow Studios International will be pre-selling My New Mystery Job, a new reality format in which a group of participants who are bored or burnt out at work sign up for a career change. Created by Stepping Stone Productions for NPO3 in the Netherlands, this first commission is in production and will launch in the third quarter.

Other Red Arrow formats include gameshow Bet Your Lucky Stars, created by Kinetic Content and originally produced by Redseven Entertainment for ProSieben in Germany.

Primetime physical gameshow The Stacking Show, also from Redseven Entertainment for ProSieben, sees teams of two battle against the clock over eight rounds to stack a range of everyday items and win a cash prize.

Factual titles include Bloody Boston (4×60’), a take on the tribal world of Boston organised crime, produced by Half Yard Productions for Reelz in the US.

Finally, Red Arrow is representing S2 of The Weekly: Special Edition (6×60’), a collection of standalone, premium documentaries driven by The New York Times journalism. The series is produced by The New York Times and Left/Right for FX and Hulu in the US.
