MultiChoice SA’s Simon Rexworthy takes up senior strategy role at Channel 4

Former MultiChoice South Africa executive Simon Rexworthy has been appointed as chief strategy and corporate development officer at UK public service broadcaster Channel 4 (C4).

He starts his role later this month reporting to CEO Priya Dogra and will also join the company’s executive committee.

Rexworthy’s remit is to guide the broadcaster’s direction by leading corporate strategy, transformation and development.

He will be responsible for delivering C4’s long-term vision and roadmap, originating high-impact partnerships, driving growth and identifying corporate development opportunities.

Rexworthy is also tasked with helping to drive revenue diversification and C4’s innovation strategy around new technologies and AI.

He has over 20 years of experience spanning strategy, product management, content acquisition and business transformation across pay TV and streaming.

Rexworthy most recently served as chief strategy and product officer at MultiChoice South Africa. There he oversaw product strategy and development across streaming, the internet and TV products.

Prior to that he held senior leadership positions, including chief strategy, data and insights officer at African streamer Showmax and senior strategy and commercial roles at Sky, including director of international streaming development.
