Corie Henson exiting MrBeast’s production studio after less than a year

Corie Henson is leaving her role as president of MrBeast’s production company, Beast Industries Studios, after less than a year.

The veteran unscripted executive had been tasked with overseeing the content for MrBeast’s YouTube channels, including its flagship MrBeast channel, which has more than half-a-billion subscribers, as well as series made for streamers and studios such as mega-budget competition show Beast Games (Prime Video).

Henson’s hire, announced in September last year, marked another example of a high-profile executive from the world of traditional production migrating to the creator economy.

She relocated from LA to North Carolina, where Beast Industries is headquartered, in order to take up the new role.

Henson told staffers she is leaving for family reasons in an internal note, which was first reported on by Business Insider.

“Being surrounded by people who care so deeply about making great content has completely changed the way I think about YouTube and storytelling, and I’m incredibly grateful for how generous everyone has been along the way,” wrote Henson.

“After a year away from my family and home, though, I know it’s time for me to get back to them.”

Before joining MrBeast’s firm, Henson’s roles included executive VP of unscripted content, competition and gameshows for NBCUniveral Entertainment; executive VP and head of unscripted for Warner Bros Discovery networks TNT, TBS and TruTV; exec VP of alternative entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Company; executive VP of unscripted TV at Electus; and VP of alternative series at ABC.
