Half Yard duo among hires for eOne unscripted arm at Lionsgate Alternative TV

L-R: Nicole Sorrenti, Brittany George and San Heng

Entertainment One (eOne)’s US unscripted label, which sits within the recently formed Lionsgate Alternative Television division, has made a trio of appointments, including hiring Nicole Sorrenti as its executive VP of development.

Sorrenti, who most recently served as chief creative officer at Half Yard Productions, will be charged with overseeing the development of formats for networks and streamers.

During her time at Half Yard, she headed production and development, working on projects including Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs for Hulu and I Just Killed My Dad for Netflix.

Also joining from Half Yard is Brittany George, who has been named executive director of development. George’s credits include Secrets & Sisterhood for Hulu and Dragnificent and Drag Me Down the Aisle for TLC.

Showrunner and executive producer San Heng is joining the eOne US team as senior VP of development, tasked with developing formats and being involved with all aspects of production. Heng’s credits include RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Real Housewives and Little Women: LA.

All three execs will report to Dirk Hoogstra, the former CEO at Half Yard Productions, who was officially tapped to run eOne’s US unscripted arm in January.

The global unscripted TV business of eOne was previously led by LA-based Tara Long, who left at the end of the year, just before the completion of Lionsgate’s acquisition of the Canada-headquartered studio.

According to Lionsgate Alternative Television, it is currently in production on 40 shows across 16 networks, including Naked & Afraid, Street Outlaws, Wicked Tuna and Ex on the Beach.
