Disney+ unveils new Bluey content and launches vertical video product Verts

BBC Studios’ global preschool hit Bluey

Global streamer Disney+ is launching new content from hit Australian kids’ brand Bluey and rolled out its new vertical video product, Verts.

Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show, produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in association with Ludo Studio, is a special televised version of the touring live performance show.

Scheduled to debut on March 16, all the favourite characters from the original show are brought to life by puppeteers in a story from Bluey creator Joe Brumm.

Meanwhile, a collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes that were previously only available online and in Australia, will also be available for the first time on Disney+ beginning May 20.

The shortform series is made by Ludo Studio and features Bluey and Bingo leaning into playful interactions and games.

In other Disney+ news, the platform has started rolling out its shortform vertical video product, Verts. It features mobile phone-orientated content from Disney’s entertainment catalogue and will be extended in the coming months with more content from digital-first creators.

News of the US media giant’s pivot into mobile-first shortform content was first revealed in January
