Channel 4 orders celebrity spin-off from Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing

Celebrity Handcuffed will be hosted by Jonathan Ross

UK public service broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a celebrity version of reality format Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing.

The civilian version launched earlier this year and has been recommissioned for a second season. Hosted by Jonathan Ross, it sees contestants handcuffed to strangers 24/7 as they compete to win a cash prize.

According to Channel 4, the first episode reached more than two million views, performing particularly well with 16-34s.

The 4×60’ celebrity version, titled Celebrity Handcuffed, will pair famous people with completely opposed opinions, beliefs, lifestyles and bad habits. It will premiere next year and will also be hosted by Ross.

The pairings comprise former glamour model Katie Price with Reform politician Suella Braverman; ex-footballer Neil Ruddock with drag queen Bimini; former girlband member Kerry Katona with Made in Chelsea star Mark-Francis Vandelli; socialite Lady Victoria Hervey with reality star-turned-women’s rights campaigner Georgia Harrison; and DJ Fat Tony with aristocrat Princess Olga Romanov.

Celebrity Handcuffed and Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing are produced by Fremantle’s 72 Films, whose founder and CEO David Glover exec produces with Tim Whitwell and Tom Clarke. Fremantle holds the international distribution rights.
