Talpa Studios takes Golden Elevators down to Cannes, asks buyers to Sing With Me

The Golden Elevators is due to air in the Netherlands and the UK

Dutch formats company Talpa Studios is heading to Mipcom with a slate of original formats, creative collaborations and new international commissions led by entertainment shows Sing With Me and The Golden Elevators.

The Golden Elevators is a quiz combining knowledge with social strategy. Ten contestants enter a skyscraper where, for each of 10 questions, they must choose between two elevators representing the possible answers, A or B. Choose correctly and you go up; choose incorrectly and you’re out.

The format has already been commissioned by ITV in the UK and SBS6 in the Netherlands, where it will air in early 2027.

Also new to the slate is Sing With Me, a music entertainment format developed in collaboration with Dutch prodco IDTV, in which aspiring singers get the chance to share the stage with some of the country’s biggest artists.

Every performance begins as a solo, but when one of the established artists hears something special, they can grab a microphone and join in, instantly transforming it into a duet. The format will launch on SBS6 in the Netherlands on November 7.

Talpa Studios’ collaborative development model has also produced titles such as murder-mystery format A Party to Die For, developed with ITV Studios, and Let’s Play Ball, originally co-developed by EndemolShine Nederland, part of Banijay Benelux, Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream. Let’s Play Ball has since secured commissions in French-speaking Canada and Finland.

Signal.Stream, Talpa Studios’ strategic partner focused on creating formats for streamers, has developed several other titles gaining international traction. Most Wanted is expanding with new commissions in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Romania.

Catch Us is also continuing its international roll-out, with new commissions from TV4 in Sweden and ProSieben in Germany, alongside adaptations in the Netherlands and Hungary.

Established catalogue titles are led by The Floor, which has now reached more than 30 territories. The Winner Takes It All is also expanding internationally following its first overseas sale to France Télévisions and a recommission in the Netherlands.

Daily reality competition The Alliance is building its international footprint. Following its launch in India on Prime Video with a celebrity adaptation, the streamer has commissioned a second season.

Caught in the Middle, a high-energy studio gameshow in which a duo must outsmart 100 opponents closing in around them, is returning for a second season in the Netherlands. It has also been adapted in Spain for Atresmedia and Australia for Seven Network.
