Canal+ collaborates with Amazon Fire TV in Europe

NEWS BRIEF: French entertainment group Canal+ has struck a strategic collaboration deal with Amazon Fire TV across multiple European territories, aiming to accelerate the distribution of the Canal+ app across Fire TV devices.

The pact spans France, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary and Belgium. In addition, the companies announced a limited-time bundling offer, with customers buying an Amazon Fire TV device on Amazon.fr also receiving one month of Canal+ for free. “By combining Canal+’s premium content with Amazon’s scale, we aim to accelerate growth and reach new audiences,” said Philippe Schwerer, Canal+’s executive VP of industrial partnerships and new business.
