RoseBerry microdrama app Epis goes live with more than 100 titles

Epis plans to release around 25 vertical originals in 2026

Vertical video company RoseBerry Media has gone live with its first microdrama app, Epis, featuring more than 100 titles spanning originals and reformatted versions of existing shows.

Epis’s slate of originals includes a pair of drama series, Revenge is a Dish and Make Me a Match, from Banijay-backed British prodco Lime Pictures (Hollyoaks); a trio of true-crime series, Two Marys, The Swindler and the Billionaire Murder, from Fremantle-backed Israeli prodco Silvio Productions; and a dating reality series, Don’t Fall for Beautiful Liars, from creator and showrunner Zipi Rozenblum.

RoseBerry said it plans to release around 25 original vertical productions this year.

Unveiled in early May, the company is led by creator, producer and Abot Hameiri co-founder Guy Hameiri, former Amagi exec Lior Friedman and entrepreneurs Itay Koppel and Simi Efrati. It is headquartered in New York, with creative and technology hubs in London and Tel Aviv.

At the time of its launch, the company said it had deals in place with A+E Global Media, All3Media International, Banijay Rights, Cineflix Rights and Fremantle to repurpose some shows from their libraries into a vertical format.

Those repurposed titles include Sexy Beasts, a BBC Three dating format created and produced by Lion Television, which now sits under the Banijay umbrella; You Can’t Kill Me, adapted from a Channel 4 true-crime miniseries produced by Fremantle; House in Flames, a Danny Dyer-led thriller produced under the Fremantle umbrella; and Homicide: Hours to Kill from Cineflix Rights.

RoseBerry said Epis will offer “a curated, expertly produced alternative to high-volume mobile video, combining accessibility, speed and quality for audiences increasingly watching on mobile.” Users of the app can view some episodes for free before being given the option to continue in a paid model.

Hameiri, who serves as CEO, said: “With Epis, we are bringing together world-class creative talent, proven television IP, original productions and advanced technology to create a curated, mobile-first service for audiences who want stories worth watching, whether they have five minutes or 50.

“We know how to adapt any genre for the vertical format and believe there are no creative limits to what vertical storytelling can deliver or who it can reach.

“Epis is also part of a much bigger RoseBerry Media ecosystem. It gives us and our partners a [direct-to-consumer] destination, a testing and data analysis ground and a source of audience intelligence, while supporting a broader studio model designed to help the industry create, understand and monetise premium vertical television across multiple distribution windows.”
