Blim, the fledgling streaming service from Mexican media giant Televisa, has stocked up on kids’ and family content for its subscribers around Latin America.

Televisa has acquired more than 800 episodes of animated and live-action children’s programming from Canada’s 9 Story Media Group for Blim, which launched last month as a competitor to Netflix.

Series picked up including Almost Naked Animals, Finding Stuff Out and Monkey See Monkey Do.

“We are making sure that we have great content for all members of the family and having 9 Story’s titles on our platform provides the youngest members of the family with quality entertainment,” said Carlos Sandoval, general manager of the SVoD service.

Blim, which is being rolled out only in Latin America at present, has been priced at 109 pesos (US$6) per month, while Netflix costs 99 pesos. ClaroVideo, from telecoms giant América Móvil, costs 69 pesos.
