B17’s Gregg Moscot creates venture to help US producers, networks navigate int’l production

Gregg Moscot, the former chief operating officer at Sony-backed unscripted prodco B17, is launching a venture aimed at helping producers and networks navigate the complex and fast-changing world of international television production.

Moscot Global Production Services (MGPS), based in Los Angeles, is described as a “full-service physical production and post-production services operation” using Moscot’s production and operations expertise as well as his vast Rolodex of producers, showrunners, networks and streaming services.

The company will provide production services in the US to projects in all genres as well as facilitating international services for American producers and buyers looking to carry out filming and post-production abroad.

At launch, the company said it already has production partnerships in place in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, Australia, Thailand and Central Europe.

Moscot has more than three decades of experience in scripted and unscripted production, including stints at 20th Century Fox, Discovery, ITV Studios and, most recently, a five-year spell at B17 where he was exec VP of production and operations before being promoted to chief operating officer.

He has worked on projects including Fox’s Extracted, NBC’s On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, ABC’s The Final Straw, CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, Discovery’s Expedition Unknown: Egypt Live, Netflix’s Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, HBO Max’s Craftopia and E! Network’s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.

Amid a sustained industry contraction, coupled with a migration of production away from LA, incentives – both elsewhere in the US and abroad – have become an increasingly important part of getting shows financed.

US president Donald Trump put runaway production in his crosshairs earlier this year with a social media post pledging to repatriate American production, but it remains unclear if any concrete steps will be taken. Initial panic around Trump’s Truth Social post has died down and, for the most part, American networks, streamers and producers appear to be going ahead with existing production plans both at home and overseas.

“Moscot Global was built to offer solutions to significant challenges that US entertainment companies, large and small, are all facing,” said Moscot.

“As US companies shed in-house physical production divisions, we step in to fill that gap. I’ve also designed MGPS to address inherent obstacles with overseas production by streamlining the international process in the most sought-after territories through top-notch production service partners who understand American standards and sensibilities.

“Our goal is to meet each client and project where they are, helping them achieve their ultimate creative vision with ease and efficiency, whether it’s in the US or around the world.”
