Channel 5 in the UK has commissioned more episodes of animated series Little Princess for its preschool programming block Milkshake.

The fourth season of Little Princess is due to air on the Viacom-owned UK terrestrial channel in autumn 2018.

Little Princess is produced by The Illuminated Film Company in London and is based on the children’s picture books by award-winning author and illustrator Tony Ross.

It is distributed by Zodiak Kids, which recently sold the first two seasons of the series to streaming platform Amazon Video as part of a package deal. It means the show will no longer be available on Netflix.

The series first began airing on Channel 5 in October 2006 and it now totals 100 episodes and two specials. A feature film, Little Princess and the Legend of Blue Foot, is currently in pre-production.

Other broadcasters to have acquired the series include Rai in Italy, ABC in Australia and ZDF in Germany.
