Amazon takes Zodiak Kids content

Arts and crafts show Mister Maker

MIPJUNIOR: Amazon has acquired more than 70 hours of children’s programming from Banijay-owned Zodiak Kids for its Prime Video streaming service in the UK, Ireland and Germany.

Amazon UK and Ireland has acquired the first two seasons of preschool show Mister Maker and the first season of Waybuloo, both of which are made by Banijay companies and air on CBeebies in the UK.

The streaming service has also taken the first two seasons of Little Princess, the Channel 5 preschool series based on the bestselling children’s picture books by Tony Ross and made by The Illuminated Film Company.

Over in Germany, Amazon Prime Video has acquired a number of preschool and animation shows, including Little Princess and two Zodiak Kids Studios titles: Famous 5: On The Case and The Ranch.

The German service has also taken 3D animated preschool show Zack & Quack, which is produced by creators QQD in partnership with fellow Israeli company Candy Bear Studios, Belly Up Productions in the UK and Singapore’s Infinite Frameworks.

In related news, CBBC in the UK and ABC Me in Australia have ordered another series of interactive production Secret Life of Boys. Zodiak Kids Studios will produce a second series (10×25’) of the show.

CBBC has also commissioned Zodiak Kids Studios to make a third series (12×30’) of comedy drama Millie Inbetween. Zodiak Kids owns worldwide distribution rights to both series.
