Blue Spirit brings in artistic producer duo

French animation studio Blue Spirit Productions has hired two new artistic producers to bolster its Paris-based team.

Sara Wikler is joining to oversee feature film projects through the company’s Sinematik label, and will also join the development of The Ballad of Yaya, the film adapted from the Franco-Chinese comic albums of the same name published by Fei.

She has previously had stints with pay TV broadcaster Canal+ and production outfit StudioCanal.

Caroline Oustlant will focus on the production of series, initiating new shows and supporting projects already in development, including The Borrowers.

Oustlant is a veteran of the Lagardère Group which she first joined in 1990 as part of the press office for children’s channel Canal J before stints in external affairs and animation futures.

In 2008 she became programme advisor in the programmes department for Lagardère’s children’s channels. In July 2015 she left Lagardère to dedicate herself to writing scripts for animated series.

The Blue Spirit Group, producer of animated series and a 2D/3D production studio for the past 15 years, hired Muriel Achery in November 2017 to direct its new production label Just Kids, which is behind the Splat & Harry series.

The new hires will report to Eric Jacquot and Armelle Glorennec, respectively president and CEO of Blue Spirit.
