Netflix expands Worst Ever true-crime franchise with two new series

Netflix is building out its Worst Ever true-crime franchise with a pair of new series, Worst In-Law Ever and Worst Friend Ever.

The new projects are produced by Blumhouse Television, which is part of Blumhouse Atomic Monster, and ITV America, which sits inside ITV Studios. Both projects are currently in production.

The Worst Ever franchise documents twisted and harrowing tales of betrayal, violence and deceit. The first iteration of the franchise, Worst Roommate Ever, premiered in 2022 and ran for two seasons.

Other installments include Worst Ex Ever, which returned for a second season in May, and Worst Neighbor Ever, which has been renewed for a second season after premiering in July.

Series in the franchise have spent a combined 17 weeks on Netflix’s global top 10 television chart and 13 weeks on Nielsen’s streaming originals chart.
