VCNI promotes Jollet to strategic role

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has appointed Olivier Jollet to a newly created strategic role across its global mobile and streaming businesses.

As senior VP of strategy and business development for streaming and head of mobile for VCNI, Jollet will oversee the company’s mobile, streaming and business development strategy globally.

The move comes less than six months after Jollet was promoted from his role as the European MD of ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV AVoD service to senior VP of emerging business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

In his role as head of mobile, Jollet will continue to expand VCNI’s mobile business, tapping into new technologies, including 5G, to strengthen the international arm of the US media giant’s mobile strategy.

The exec will report to Kelly Day, president of streaming and chief operating officer of VCNI, and Jeff Shultz, chief strategy officer and chief business development officer of streaming at ViacomCBS.

Based in Berlin, Jollet will collaborate with leaders across ViacomCBS, covering content, distribution, marketing and finance, to ensure a coordinated approach to further developing ViacomCBS’s global streaming operating model.

The US media giant is gearing up to launch its Paramount+ streaming service in the US and certain international territories in early March.

Prior to Pluto TV, which was bought by ViacomCBS in 2019, Jollet co-founded Quazer, a digital TV-like service and served as its MD until it was acquired by Pluto TV in 2016.

Pluto TV started in the US in 2014 and has been rolled out in the UK, Germany, Spain, France and 17 countries in Latin America.

“As the company prepares for the upcoming international roll-out of Paramount+ in Latin America and the Nordics and the continued expansion of Pluto TV internationally, elevating Olivier to this new role will enable us to further strengthen our strategy and new market development,” said Day.
