Paramount+ sets March launch

ViacomCBS will launch its Paramount+ streaming service in the US and certain international territories in early March.

Marc DeBevoise

Paramount+ will replace CBS All Access in the US on Thursday March 4, a plan first laid out in September last year by Marc DeBevoise, chief digital officer of ViacomCBS and president and CEO of ViacomCBS Digital.

CBS All Access will be rebranded to Paramount+ in Canada on the same day, while the service will also debut in Latin America on March 4 and the Nordics on March 25.

A further launch in Australia, where ViacomCBS owns local broadcaster Network 10, is planned for later in 2021, replacing current streaming option 10 All Access.

The SVoD service, which underwent a “preview” launch in the US in August, is bulking up its content library to include more new originals.

It is aiming to hit 30,000 TV episodes and movies by launch, mining the ViacomCBS portfolio of brands, which includes MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Smithsonian Channel and Paramount Movies.
