UK factual indie Brinkworth opens new Bristol unscripted base Brinkworth West

UK factual indie Brinkworth (Accused: Guilty or Innocent?) is launching a new unscripted production base in Bristol to generate new IP and develop a slate of fresh projects.

Brinkworth West will open on October 5 with the ambition of establishing a sustainable creative base in the south-west of England.

Working closely with staff at Brinkworth’s main base in London, Brinkworth West will build on the company’s reputation for returning series and singles in the documentary space.

Led by veteran filmmaker Malcolm Brinkworth, the outfit has produced shows such as Thames Water: Inside the Crisis (BBC), Murder Suspect No.1 (5), The Real Unforgotten (ITV) and Cold Case Investigators: Solving Britain’s Sex Crimes (BBC).

Brinkworth previously worked in the region when he founded Touch Productions in Bath.

Last month, UK broadcaster 5 commissioned Brinkworth to produce 5×60’ hospital-based docuseries Life Support, which takes viewers inside one of Britain’s busiest NHS Trusts.

Brinkworth said: “I am really excited to be opening again in the south-west. Having run a Bath-based indie for almost a decade, I know how it is home for so many talented people. Our hope is that we can create a vibrant and exciting place for programme makers in the years to come.”
