Melissa Pillow has joined TelevisaUnivision as sales representative for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), following nine years at rival TV Azteca.

Based in Madrid, Pillow will work within the Spanish-language media giant’s international distribution team, helping to grow its business across markets where it has a long-established presence.

Pillow joined TV Azteca in 2017 and remained there until August this year, most recently serving as sales representative for the US, Europe, Australia, Turkey and Israel.

Her arrival marks TelevisaUnivision’s second hire this year from TV Azteca’s international team. In April, Dulce Ávila left TV Azteca after more than eight years to join TelevisaUnivision as director of content sales for Latin America and new business.

Pillow previously worked at NBCUniversal Hispanic Group, where she served as VP of sales for EMEA from 2007 to 2017. In that role, she led the regional sales team and handled sales of series and formats from NBCUniversal Hispanic Group, HBO Latin America and Chile’s Mega and TVN, among others, to traditional media companies and digital platforms.

She also oversaw the programming and management of Telemundo’s international pay TV channel in Africa, while focusing much of her commercial activity on that continent and CEE.

Pillow said: “Having worked across the CEE and CIS markets for much of my career, I look forward to reconnecting with clients, building new relationships and helping grow TelevisaUnivision’s business across the territory.”
