True Crime unveils slate of originals including criminal science series, podcast adaptation

UK channel True Crime has unveiled a fall slate mixing original commissions, returning docs and a podcast adaptation, headed by new criminal science factual series UK Forensic Breakthroughs.

Jo Millington

Produced by Monster Films, the 10×60’ series sees forensic scientist Jo Millington investigate 10 real UK murder cases in which scientific breakthroughs and microscopic evidence led to criminal convictions. It premieres on September 22.

A second original commission, Deadly Destinations, is produced by WAM Media Group and launches on September 23. The 10×60’ series explores how everyday travel intersects with crime, from holidays and business trips to relocations with fatal consequences.

This Much Is True Crime, meanwhile, is based on a podcast and hosted by criminologist Professor David Wilson and journalist Martin Frizell. It examines headline-making cases, criminal investigations and the wider issues surrounding crime. It is set to premiere on September 4.

The roster of fall programming is rounded out by a season three renewal for Britain’s Countryside Killers (10×60’, Peninsula Television). True Crime is a joint venture between AMC Networks International and Paramount Global.
