TFOU, Easy Peasy Entertainment adapt Hayate books

NEWS BRIEF: French broadcaster TF1’s children’s brand TFOU has greenlit the development of a 2D animated series based on Yann Walcker and Shiilia’s kids’ books Hayate & the Piracats.

Easy Peasy Entertainment is developing the IP into a 52×11’ series called Hayate, with plans to expand it across print and audio. The story is set in a world filled with cats and fantastical creatures, where the titular character and her team of novice pirates sail the seas of Catland aboard a flying ship. Their mission is to answer the distress calls from every corner of the archipelago, using a magic compass to track them down.
