StudioCanal unveils third season of Has Fallen franchise

Production is underway on Shadow Has Fallen, the latest instalment of French producer and distributor StudioCanal’s …Has Fallen scripted franchise.

The 6×52′ Canal+ original is being produced by Urban Myth Films (The Lazarus Project) in partnership with StudioCanal, Millennium and G-Base.

Following Paris Has Fallen and Apollo Has Fallen, the third TV iteration of the brand, which started off as a movie franchise, stars Ritu Arya (Polite Society) and Tewfik Jallab (Spiral), reprising their roles as MI6 operative Zara Taylor and former French Secret Service agent Vincent Taleb respectively. Also joining the cast are Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey) and Atandwa Kani (Black Panther).

The show is being filmed in the UK and South Africa. The plot centres on a whistleblower who has stolen an unstoppable cyber weapon capable of hijacking any computerised system, from banks to military drones.

It is the latest Canal+ Group premium project from South Africa since the company’s US$3bn takeover of South African media giant Multichoice last year.
