Spin-off procedural drama 9-1-1: Nashville heads up ABC’s fall primetime roster

Produced by 20th Century Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television, 9-1-1: Nashville is the latest addition to the high-octane first-responders franchise, after original series 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star, which was cancelled last year.

Set in Music City, Tennessee, it stars Chris O’Donnell (NCIS: Los Angeles) as Captain Don Sharpe, Jessica Capshaw, country music star LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. It will air on Thursday nights.

ESPN’s Monday Night Football starts the week from 8pm, with all the best action from the NFL; while Tuesday nights see the return of ballroom dancing format Dancing with the Stars, followed by the second season of crime drama High Potential, which is ABC’s most-watched new series in seven years.

On Wednesdays, mockumentary sitcom Abbott Elementary comes back for a fifth season, joined by Shifting Gears (S2), dating format The Golden Bachelor (S2) and Shark Tank (S17).

Thursday night’s primetime schedule features the aforementioned 9-1-1: Nashville, sandwiched between parent series 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy.

Ryan Seacrest makes his Celebrity Wheel of Fortune debut alongside Vanna White on Friday nights, followed by a two-hour slot for news magazine format 20/20.

Saturday night is devoted to college football action from 7.30pm, while Sunday night features America’s Funniest Home Videos and The Wonderful World of Disney.

Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group, said: “ABC dominated this season in multiplatform ratings, which are the most relevant metrics that reflect how audiences are consuming television today.

“We are meeting viewers where they are, and this achievement really highlights our strategic approach and commitment to creative excellence. Looking ahead, we’re all about maintaining stability, delivering quality, and driving innovation, with new shows and returning favourites from some of the industry’s top creators and biggest stars.”
