RTL Croatia heads for Love Island after ITV Studios closes remake deals

Croatia will be the 28th territory to adapt Love Island

RTL Croatia has ordered its own versions of ITV Studios’ reality formats Love Island and Game of Chefs for its linear channels and streaming platform Voyo.

The agreement makes Croatia the 28th territory to commission Love Island, while Game of Chefs will launch in Croatia in spring as its seventh international adaptation.

The deals were brokered by Martijn Plaizier, format licensing manager, global partnerships at ITV Studios.

Love Island follows a group of single people as they couple up, recouple and face eliminations in a sun-soaked villa, all while competing for romance and the approval of the public.

The format was created by ITV Studios-owned Lifted Entertainment and WPP Media’s Motion Entertainment.

Game of Chefs, meanwhile, sees three top chefs put amateur cooks through their paces as they compete to be crowned the winner.
