Romania’s Pro TV becomes latest broadcaster to take on The Traitors

The Traitors heads to Romania

Romania’s Pro TV has become the latest broadcaster to commission a local adaptation of hit Dutch competition format The Traitors from All3Media’s IDTV.

The news follows the announcement at Mip Africa yesterday that South Africa’s Primedia Studios has also secured the rights to produce a local adaptation.

Other recently-announced adaptations include a celebrity version for Prime Video in Italy and a Spanish version for Atresmedia TV.

Since its launch on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021, The Traitors has spawned over 25 local adaptations in Europe, Australasia and North America, including with NBCUniversal’s Peacock in the US, as well as BBC One in the UK.
