Nelvana trio stripped on PBS Kids

US public network PBS has increased its commitment to Nelvana's George Shrinks and Seven Little Monsters, and given the Canadian toon outfit's new Berenstain Bears a New Year slot.

Currently airing once-a-weekend as part of the Bookworm Bunch block, George Shrinks has been given a new slot stripped through the week. From January 6, new episodes of the toon will air Mon-Fri on PBS Kids.

The show, based on the comic books of the same name, was created by Emmy-winner and best-selling author William Joyce (Rolie Polie Olie).

PBS Kids will also air Corus-owned Nelvana's new 15-minute animated series The Berenstain Bears in a new half-hour slot, alongside new 15-minute episodes of Seven Little Monsters, also from Nelvana and Maurice Sendak.

The new toon double half-hour will be stripped through the week, also from January 6. The move means that like George Shrinks, Seven Little Monsters will be shifted out of its current slot in the weekend Bookworm Bunch block to the Mon-Fri slot.
