The next season of the Spanish adaptation of MasterChef Junior will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in Spain.

The five-episode season will launch on December 18 and will be produced by Shine Iberia, part of Banijay Iberia.

Having previously aired for eight seasons on Spanish free-to-air channel La 1, part of RTVE, between 2013 and 2024, the show is returning on Disney+ with “revamped structure, pace and content,” the producers said.

The move to Disney+ also brings themed episodes and challenges inspired by the Disney universe.

It will see 16 aspiring chefs between the ages of eight and 12 enter the show’s kitchens to put their culinary skills to the test through a series of games and challenges.

Pepe Rodríguez, Jordi Cruz and Delicious Martha will judge the young cooks as they compete for €12,000 (US$13,450), the MasterChef Junior Spain trophy and a four-day course at the Basque Culinary Center, for the winner and a guest.

Represented internationally by Banijay Entertainment, MasterChef was created by Franc Roddam and launched in the UK in 1990. It has since been produced in more than 70 markets, broadcast in over 200 territories and watched by more than one billion viewers.
