3BoxMedia invites Mipcom buyers to World’s Best Design Bars & Restaurants

World’s Best Design Bars & Restaurants

Spanish-German distributor 3BoxMedia International is taking a slate of documentaries spanning current affairs, travel, science and nature to Mipcom this month, led by World’s Best Design Bars & Restaurants.

Coproduced by Prounen Film with BR and Arte, the 5×26’ series takes viewers on a journey around the world to extraordinary bars and restaurants.

It is joined by Orange Productions’ 6×26’ series Rural Paradises, which reveals some of the most spectacular rural landscapes in remote corners of countries including Oman, the Cook Islands and Sri Lanka.

In current affairs, 3BoxMedia is presenting Inferno: Climate Crisis in the Mediterranean, a 1×53’ coproduction by Small Planet, WDR, Arte, EPT and Al Jazeera that examines the climate challenges facing the world’s second fastest warming region. There’s also Mankind’s Folly (1×53’, Small Planet, Arte, EPT, RTS), which warns of infrastructure collapse due to landslides caused by thawing permafrost.

Also in current affairs is When Chatbots Turn Deadly, an RTS production that questions whether AI-powered conversational tools are truly as harmless as they seem, bearing in mind that they have been linked to more than 150 suicides in the US alone.

On 3BoxMedia’s science, history and culture slate is The Lost Coast of the Ice Age (1×50’), which reveals the remains of extinct animals that lived more than 20,000 years ago. At the Top: Catalan Towers (1×51’), meanwhile, showcases “one of the world’s most extraordinary cultural traditions.”

Zero Emissions Guy (1×52’) questions whether it’s possible for individuals to reduce emissions to the extent necessary to reverse climate change, while Children of Uno (1×53’) introduces viewers to a fascinating and isolated culture off the coast of Guinea-Bissau.

Finally, in wildlife and nature, 3BoxMedia is showcasing The Colossus of the Tundra (1×48’), a blue-chip doc focusing on the musk ox in Norway, and Coiba: The Wild Treasure Island (1×50’), which takes viewers to a modern Noah’s Ark off the coast of Panama.

These are joined by Strait of Gibraltar: Nature in Transit (1×52’), which showcases “one of the planet’s most remarkable biological corridors,” and The Imperial Zebra (1×48’), following one of Africa’s most endangered large mammals.
