Lego Media pre-sells first toon

MIPCOM NEWS – Toy giant Lego has made its opening foray into the world of broadcasting, after its 18-month-old media division found a buyer for its first ever television series Little Robots.

Lego Media International's pre-school series was pre-bought by the UK's BBC, which has taken the first 26 episodes of the 52×10' toon. The show goes into production at award-winning animation studio Cosgrove Hall Films this month, for delivery in January 2003.

The show is based on the kids' book by Mike Brownlow and follows the adventures of Tiny Robot and his diminutive droid mates who all live on a scrapheap.

{It will impossible for CBBC viewers not to fall in love with Tiny Robot and his friends,{ reckoned Lego Media's head of acquisitions and co-productions Michael Carrington.
