KC Global Media Asia appoints Jennifer Lee to key acquisitions role

Former Fox Sports executive Jennifer Lee has been appointed director, head of acquisitions and programming, at KC Global Media Asia.

At the Taiwan-based company, a leading entertainment hub and operator of linear TV channels, Lee will lead global acquisition and content strategy across the networks portfolio, which includes AXN, Animax, One, KCM, AXN Sports and Journy.

The exec, who has previously worked for Fox Sports, ESPN Star Sports and Star TV, will also drive expansion across YouTube and FAST platforms.

George Chien, co-founder and CEO of KC Global Media, said of Lee: “Her expertise is perfect for the digital direction we are heading as we scale our footprint across Asia and beyond.”

In other company news, KC Global Media Asia has wrapped production on new fantasy adventure series VIII: Awakening.

The 24×15′ series stars Zhang Wan Ying (Glory), Leo Zhou (Relying on Favors) and Nick Shan (Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms) in a mythological tale about a group of Immortals who use their divine powers to take on dark forces.

The KC Global Media Asia production, filmed in Beijing, is a partnership between CICC (China Intercontinental Communication Centre) and Shanghai Qi’Ai (Shanghai Qi’Ai Film & TV Culture).

VIII: Awakening is the first original production in China for KC Global Media Asia, which is also handling international sales.
