Jellyfish Originals introduces Channel 5’s Milkshake! strand to Stan & Gran CG toon

Stan & Gran goes into production in February

Jellyfish Originals, the kids and family content division of animation and VFX studio Jellyfish Pictures, is gearing up to go into production on its inaugural series, Stan & Gran.

Bangalore-based Xentrix Studios has come on board as a coproducer and will be providing animation services for the 52×11′ show, which will go into production in February.

Banijay Kids & Family Distribution, the commercial arm and sales division for Banijay Kids & Family, is on board as global distributor alongside existing coproduction partner Jollywise Media.

Created by the latter’s founder, Jon Mason, the CG animated series has been commissioned by Paramount Global-owned UK broadcaster Channel 5’s preschool strand, Milkshake!.

Recent production hires include Howard Read (Danger Mouse) as head writer, Peter Griffiths (Lego: Nexus Knights) as producer and Simone Giampaolo (Only a Child) as director. Jellyfish Originals MD Natalie Llewellyn and Mason are also serving as executive producers on the series.

Described as funny and heart-warming, it follows the mystery-busting adventures of a curious and excitable young nature lover and his fun-loving, dynamic grandma as together they investigate the strange goings-on in a fictional British coastal village.

The series focuses on core themes including discovery, exploration, nature, science and inter-generational relationships.
