Iván Stoessel steps down as development chief at Argentina’s Telefe Studios

Argentinian executive Iván Stoessel has left local broadcaster Telefe, where he served as director of development for Telefe Studios.

The announcement was made by Stoessel via LinkedIn, where he indicated he is starting “a new chapter” in his professional life, although without providing details.

“It was a privilege to be part of the history of the place that first taught me to dream and then gave me the opportunity to help others do the same. With my passion undiminished, I open a new chapter, which I write feeling that mixture of curiosity, vertigo and excitement for the new. This is just the beginning,” he said.

Stoessel had been serving as development director of Telefe Studios, the channel’s production and development division, since last year.

The executive had been part of Telefe for six years until 2019 as a content development executive and subsequently assumed responsibilities in that area within Paramount International when the channel was under the control of the US company.

Telefe was acquired in October last year by the local media holding company led by businessman Gustavo Scaglione, ending a decade under the umbrella of Paramount, formerly ViacomCBS.

Since then, the channel has undergone several changes in its executive structure, including the departure of Guillermo Pendino from the programming director position in January and that of CEO Darío Turovelsky in May.
