Industrial hires A+E alum
American Idol producer Industrial Media has appointed a former A+E Networks exec to lead its New York and Atlanta production hubs.

Devon Hammonds has joined Industrial as senior VP of development and current programming for the East Coast, a role that will see her provide support to prodcos including Matthew Galkin’s Fairhaven Films and Christina Douglas’s Momentum Content.
Hammonds previously worked with Industrial president Aaron Saidman and CEO Eli Holzman on US cablenet A&E’s Emmy-winning docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology & the Aftermath, which was produced by Industrial’s The Intellectual Property Corp (IPC).
While at A+E Networks, she exec produced more than 30 series, most recently holding the title of VP of development and programming, responsible for developing non-fiction series.
Hammonds joined the broadcaster in 2012 as director of non-fiction and alternative programming, going on to serve as exec producer for original series like Shipping Wars and Nightwatch, before being elevated to VP in 2015.
Before that, Hammonds worked at Disney’s Buena Vista Productions, overseeing programmes including Who Wants to be a Millionaire?.
“She is an incredibly talented executive and leader with invaluable creative instincts,” said Holzman and Saidman in a joint statement.
Industrial has also promoted IPC development exec Matt Zien to the dual role of VP of development and creative director for IPC and head of brand development for Industrial, while Patrick Murphy has been upped to manager of development for IPC.
Zien was part of the company’s launch team, working on series such as Amazon Prime’s Free Meek. Murphy, who joined IPC in 2016 after its launch, is currently developing an upcoming project for E! and has spearheaded projects for Apple, Discovery and History. In his new role, he will also work across the company’s scripted slate, including new HBO series Dirty Thirty.
Core Media rebranded as Industrial Media and appointed Holzman as CEO after acquiring his IPC production company in 2018.
