HBO Max to launch in 12 countries next month including Albania, Estonia, Iceland, Lithuania as roll-out continues

HBO Max offers big-budget dramas like The Last of Us

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) is continuing the roll-out of its HBO Max streaming service with 12 new launches in July.

The platform will become available in Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Tajikistan.

HBO Max will offer existing titles including A Minecraft Movie, the Harry Potter films, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, The Pitt and Peacemaker, plus upcoming series such as Task and IT: Welcome to Derry.

The move follows yesterday’s news that WBD will be split into separate companies – Streaming & Studios and Global Networks – with HBO Max falling within the purview of the first, David Zaslav-led, business.

JB Perrette, CEO and president of global streaming and games at WBD, said: “Our continued global expansion of HBO Max is helping fuel the great momentum we continue to see for the service. These 12 countries will be followed by a few additional markets later this year, and launches in Germany, Italy and the UK early next year. Each new market further positions HBO Max as a worldwide destination for the best in entertainment.”
