Fremantle launches AI-focused label Imaginae Studios to drive creative innovation
RTL Group-owned production giant Fremantle has announced the launch of Imaginae Studios, a production subsidiary dedicated to exploring the creative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) across the media and entertainment landscape.
The new venture has been created to support and enhance the work of creative talent by integrating advanced AI technologies into the development and production process, with a focus on pushing creative boundaries and reimagining storytelling possibilities, according to the American Idol and Got Talent prodco.
The initiative is being led by Andrea Scrosati, Fremantle’s group chief operating officer and CEO for Europe, who has championed the creation of the studio as part of the company’s broader commitment to innovation.
Imaginae will operate separately from Fremantle’s existing production infrastructure that encompasses prodcos in 27 countries, said the company, and will be staffed by a specialist team of creatives selected for forward-thinking storytelling and technological experimentation.
The launch marks a significant step for Fremantle in its strategic investment in emerging technologies and next-generation talent. By establishing Imaginae as a standalone entity, the company aims to create an agile, experimental environment in which AI solutions and creative vision can merge to produce distinctive, high-quality content for global audiences.
Scrosati commented that Fremantle’s mission remains centred on empowering creatives with the tools and support they need to bring exceptional content to life. “Our mission is, and will always be, to give creatives the best tools and the best support to deliver incredible content for audiences globally,” he said.
“AI offers incredible new opportunities to transform ideas into images, video, sound and art. The mission of Imaginae Studios will be exactly that… We believe that behind every powerful AI tool, there must be a brilliant creative mind guiding its potential.”
He described Imaginae Studios as “a bridge between extraordinary human creativity and cutting-edge technology,” and positioned the label as a creative sanctuary where innovation and experimentation are actively nurtured. Fremantle said Imaginae Studios will operate under the “strictest intellectual property and compliance standards.”
