Foxstar alum opens Atlas

US non-fiction specialist Atlas Media Group has hired the former svp of Fox TV studios’ factual division Foxstar Productions to fill the new post of svp of business development and special projects.

In her new role, Kaki Kirby will be responsible for all of Atlas’ sales, marketing and development efforts, reporting to Bruce David Klein, the 17-year-old prodco’s president and executive producer.

“She’s a proven studio, cable and international dealmaker,” said Klein, explaining the hire. At Foxstar, Kirby was responsible for the development and production of over 160 hours of programming for Fox Family, AMC, History Channel, A&E, Travel Channel and National Geographic Channels.

Prior to Foxstar, Kirby was svp of business development for WinStar TV & Video, where she created the business plan for the integration of the home video, production and distribution units of WinStar New Media. She was also svp of Non Fiction Films and once ran the North American film and television office for Australia’s Beyond International.
